Air duct cleaning in Ascension Parish

Who should I call and how much should I expect to have to pay for this? My house is roughly 1700 sq ft living with a 4 ton unit. I’ve done a lot of renovations over the past four years and should’ve had the ductwork & system cleaned already and just kept putting it off but with a baby girl due this summer it’s definitely time. Who does the OT recommend in my area?

I have read good reviews about Glaze in Gonzales.
I personally have never used them as I continue to use the company that installed my ACs (now located in Walker) and don’t believe it would be worth your money to call them for a duct cleaning (considering location of their business for the type of work you want done).

Don’t do it.
You have a good HVAC system that is properly maintained? Nearly all particulate matter has been sucked into the filter. Remember, only your return air Is pulling in. You may have some dust in your vents but particulate volume isn’t any worse than in pollen season.

That’s true, but the previous owners were pretty special and no telling if they always had a filter installed or not. They were pretty dirty and half-assed everything and I wouldn’t be surprised if they always had the cheapest filters they could find. Is duct cleaning expensive? I really have no idea.

1. Adopt a cat
2. Go to the pet store and buy no less than 4 mice
3. Open one of your vents
4. While making sure the cat is watching, put one mouse into the duct
5. Allow cat to go after the mouse
****It is optional, but recommended, that you tie a safety/retrieval string to the cat's tail
6. Repeat steps 1-5 until ducts are clean, you run out of mice, or the cat claws your eyes out

A good, ol' reliable bowline is always a good choice.

Do you have metal duct work or flexible ducts? Flexible ducts are not cleaned but replaced. Metal ducts can be cleaned.

Correct. It’s cheaper to replace flexible duct than clean it, but it can be cleaned.
