Self driving cars may make this obsolete though.

There is no maybe about it. There are already industries gearing up for it. I’d bet by 2045 manually operated vehicles are going to be akin to go-karts. There will be designated places you can go to drive and race them but you won’t be able to operate them on streets.

Zero issue with this. I hate a drunk.

Maybe there will be an AI switch to keep this from being posted so much.

The real double whammy is cops will assume every car on the side of the road is a drunk. You can be changing your tire and have to do with demands for a FST.

I think Canadia actually has this. That handheld breathalyzer can be administered as part of a routine traffic stop. Question the stop? Blow in the machine.

Car culture and personal independence started to die off in the 2000s as the internet and socializing online took hold.

Younger generations don’t know what they’re missing but that’s progress I guess.

Serious question:

If the NHTSA mandated that all vehicles have an interlock device that measures BAC, which you would need to have calibrated every couple of months, would you actually have “zero issue” with that?

Just trying to understand what assumptions go into the “zero issues” comment.

Most drunk people are temporarily insane. They didn’t sit out to drink and drive but that’s what they end up doing. If this helps stop ruining lives I’m all for it. This is different than gun laws as you have no constitutional right to drive.
