Christian is the best heel in the company right now.

Came back and they're using him against a NXT flame-out reality TV loser. NXT is going to slaughter them.

we need to get 1 more Edge/Christian vs. Hardy Boys match, right?
As I commented to Mrs Dawg tonight, AEW has gone from a place developing young stars to the place where WWE washouts/AARP guys go to play.

WWE is a G rated kids wrestling show with soft boring wrestling. And way too much terrible womens wrestling.
AEW’s current roster is vastly superior to any company. It’s hard hitting, spot fest, more adult promos. Just a more high energy show.
People that like WWE are the same types that would watch Big Bang Theory and think that was good comedy. AEW is more like Always Sunny in Philadelphia. BBT gets more viewers but nobody is arguing it’s better quality. It’s generic fluff, much like WWE is

There are people that wrestle on AEW TV that are worse that wrestlers in OVW.

Oh yeah man. Orange Cassidy is some shite for high level thinkers.

Cassidy is a great wrestler. Scrappy athletic underdog, that has his spots that get over with the crowd.
The crap on WWE is stuff like Alexa Bliss playing with magic dolls. Or even their main guys who wrestle the exact same generic soft style
With AEW you get more athletic guys doing far more crazier stuff in the ring, and you get far less scripted promos.
Their last PPV had Danielson/Saber, Darby/Christian, and Swerve/Hangman which were all different types of matches and all great.
WWE is like watching a comedy with a laugh track. It’s boring, paint by the numbers corporate branding. It’s a restaurant that serves the exact same thing nonstop.

The entire WWE PC is full of people that are athletic. Tiffany Stratton shits on everyone and has only been a wrestler for less than 3 years.

Since Covid Paul has signed talent almost exclusively from tryouts filed with nothing but ex-college athletes. We'll see how she comes back from her injury but Sol Ruca is right there with TS's athleticism. (I believe both brought gymnastics/dance backgrounds.)

quote:Having spotfests is not wrestling. Slicing your head up 75% of the time is crazy...in a bad way. (Little wonder WWE told a half brain dead garbage wrestler to frick off... while putting the world title on the other two.) AEW has 3 types of wrestlers. Trampoline lovers (fricks/most of the trios teams), Bladers, and WWE washouts. I hate to tell you but all wrestling promos are scripted. Granted NXT has a lot of fully scripted promos but the top people in WWE are given just as much of an outline as AEW's mark booker gives to his people.

quote:Just pointing out the obvious...of those 3 matches; 4 guys were WWE trained, 1 is based in Japan, and I don't even know where to put Hangnail.

I cringe when I see Paige, Edge, and even Sting go into the ring with anyone brought in by the fricks or via QT's school. At least Austin went through the PC before washing out but if they're going to do the stale "get through these guys first" shite (as they did last year with Wardlow/MJF), Adam is going to be facing that kid. One botch and he's in a wheelchair for life. I think they've protected Paige fairly well by having her wrestle other ex-PC women but they're running out of those. Tony should have his arse sued if he ever puts Sasha anywhere close to Paige in the ring (he's already proven he won't be able to resist the temptation).
Now to his credit, I think having Edge v Christian as the first program was the smart move by Tony. He just needs to make sure he doesn't book himself into a corner to where it takes forever to get to the Edge/Christian v Hardys double retirement match. That match belongs as the main event for a PPV on Toronto (hopefully that was agreed upon before he signed).
