So you think it’s a scam to get your money?

I mean.....most hospitals even have car seat programs that will provide free car seats to those that truly can’t afford them.

Is nobody else going to roast the study that says a seatbelt is just as safe for a 30” child?

It would decapitate a ducking kid that is 30”

We had a kid years ago that was internally decapitated. 5 or 6 year old sat in front seat and got in a car accident.

Force of airbag snapped his neck completely in two(why it is called internal decapitation). Amazingly.....he lived. Spent quite a long time in the ICU though.

THAT is why you don’t let children under 12-13 sit in the front seat.

I think there’s a difference in car seat programs for newborns leaving the hospital, and parents of a 4’5” 8-year old who are told their car seat just “expired.”

I don’t give a shite what the study says if they say a child at 30” is safe to be in a seatbelt

I suppose either the scientist is retarded, or the poster misquoted the study

How are you going to criticize the study if you admit you haven’t read it? you’re the perfect example of the dumb parents I referenced in the OP

The study (and the video) explicitly state that there is no benefit for a child over the age of 2 to be in a car seat.

If a study said drinking a gallon of bleach is good for you I wouldn need to read it

If the study is saying a child at 30” is just as safe in a seatbelt it is just as useless

Nothing more needs to be said really

Like I said the study is retarded, or the poster misquoted it

I was smart enough to not put my child in a regular seatbelt at 30”, so I have that going for me

you didn’t read the study but you criticize the study. Do you have any idea how ignorant you sound? I don’t know what that other poster was talking about with the 30” reference. The fact that you took that at face value without looking deeper into the information is simply another example of your stupidity as a parent.

Ok. But you can easily buy a new car seat for $50.

Wouldn’t you say your child’s safety is worth $50?

Sure it is, buy I'm not spending 50 bucks for no reason.

There should be baby sized motorcycle helmets. That way parents could save $50. Just put the child in the front seat, you don't want it in the back where he can become a missile and hit you on your noggin. Don't use a lap belt. If there's a wreck, their most vulnerable area is safe. I'm going to pass this by my friend in the DOT.

Maybe I can design a helmet for your pugs.

Dude I have made it obvious anyone who thinks 30” is safe is retarded

If the study didn’t say that then the study isn’t retarded, the poster is

Not sure what else to say

We didn't have car seats, or even seat belts, in the 60's. Most of us turned out OK. I can remember riding across the bridge between Natchez, and Vidalia, in the back of a pick up.
me too. And that was on the scary two lane bridge without shoulders. And pretty sure its illegal to allow a dog loose in the bed of a truck, at least on La interstates. All of my labs loved riding.
