I've found with running shoes, you get what you pay for. I love my Gel-Nimbus by Asics. Bought some last year at $150. Loved them so much that I bought another pair when they went on sale a year later for $100.
Are you saying the second pair weren't as good as the first?

Yeah, haha...the price has nothing to do with the quality. Best thing to do is find a pair you like and hunt down last year's model. As long as there aren't huge changes, you can get your running shoes for ~90 bucks all day.

Shoes are different for different people. Go to a running shop and try a bunch on. Not Academy, but a store that actually carries a wide variety of good brands (Brooks, ASICS, Nike, hoka, altra, new Balance, Newton, Mizuno, saucony). You aren't going to find a selection like that without going to a running shop.

I'd recommend any shoe that is compatible with the Fox 2.0 Remote Reservoir Shocks. Couple them with some Old Man Emu 881 Coils. Don't forget to beef up the rear suspension also: Dakar leaf pack, Bilstien 5100's should do it.
I'd still take it slow and steady with that gear.
Nike hopefully sells an adapter kit.

Actual dedicated runners?

Try:

Mizuno Wave Rider
Asics Nimbus Gel
Saucony Ride
Brooks Ghost
Nike Pegasus

These are all fairly neutral in shape, and will serve you well. Shoes lilke Nike Frees or Adidas Ultra Boost are for fashion, not running.

I liked the Nike Zoom Structure until two shoes ago. I do the Brooks GTS now.
