Not shocking that the above states were among the first to secede from the Union because slavery was so widespread/ way of life.
Next the Neo Confederates shall tell us not many Confederate soldiers owned slaves.....but their families probably did. Most teenage soldiers even today own nothing of value( outside of a car).
Neo Confederate scum are no better than Neo Nazis who downplay the Holocaust:
"It wasn't 6 million Jews"...." Germans didn't Gas murder that many Jews...diseases/ Allied bombings",etc......

You could erect a statue of every minority hero on every street corner and put a museum of tolerance on every block and these people would still find a million things to bitch about. This is about laying waste to Western society. Nothing more.

Maybe, but I think we get into dangerous territory when we presume to know others' motivations. Once you tell yourself that the other side is dead set on malevolent intentions, it makes it harder to empathize and have any real debate about it.
I prefer to think that these are just misguided people who think they're doing something noble who fell into the trap of tribal thinking.
I also don't really give a shite about these statues either way so frick it. But on shite that is actually important, it's a dangerous and counterproductive way to think of those who disagree with you.

It's not merely about statues, per say. These acts are merely a starting point by which other acts are born. A line needs to be drawn and this is just as good a place as any.

Again, more tribal politics. People quit debating actual issues and start taking sides based on who they identify with. You're kinda playing into that when you label them all as anti-western or try to assume their motivations. Both sides are guilty of it. The trick is to debate about actual issues and not groups of people and their merits and motivations.

I'm not assuming anything. These are the tenets of the modern activist movements we see today such as white privilege. If you boil down their arguments, you can see their ultimate goals.

Absolutely, once all confederate and founding fathers statues are removed, they will move on to something else. They want to erase history that they don't like, but in the end it will not be enough for them.
