This was the announcement from one of her sons yesterday:
I cannot believe I am typing this, but my mother Olivia King was one of the victims today at the shooting in Collierville at Kroger. I normally don't post publicly about Mom's medical concerns, but this is obviously different.
I don't know much more than what's being released to the public at the moment. I received a phone call while in a meeting from a stranger. He informed me that Mom was hit during an active shooting scene, and that I was marked at her emergency contact. She was breathing at the time he called me.
I will post updates as I get information, but we please need prayers for Mom, for the rest of the victims, and as hard as it might be, that God might have mercy on the soul of the person who committed this terrible crime. We are on the road and trying to get home as quickly and safely as possible from Ohio.
UPDATE:
Dear friends, it is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that my mother has died to her wounds. I spoke directly to the trauma surgeon. She was shot directly in the chest. EMTs attempted CPR until the hospital. They tried to save her at the hospital to no avail. I apologize for the graphic details, but this type of crime needs to stop being glossed over and sanitized. No one deserves this.
We will continue to update family and friends with funeral arrangements and other news as it becomes available.

Being the nicest public school in a universally shitty area for public schools doesn't make it a great school.
I don’t want to derail what should be a thread about a tragedy with your ignorance of the school, but US News ranks it the #1700 high school in the nation out of 18,000, with a score of 92/100. And the majority of the schools ahead of it are very small niche schools with enrollments in the hundreds. I would hardly consider a school in the 94th percentile to just be a decent school in a shitty area as you described, but I’m sure you have your own objective rankings of schools nationwide to compare to…

While I am sorry to hear that unfortunately everything needs to be scrutinized now regardless of whether or not she went to your grandparents church. I'm not saying that she in particular had anything to do with it but the fact that the gunman killed themselves leaves things open and hard to figure out.

I saw reports that it was a vendor. I wonder what company the shooter worked for.
