Social media has created the political climate we live in.

On twitter the amount of people who post nothing but politics is insane. Of course a lot of them are bots, but whether its bots or not, there are political related comments in a lot of non political post.

I remember when I was younger, probably early 20s and was hanging out with a group of people and someone was leaving because he wanted to go watch the presidential candidate debate and everyone was laughing at him and asking if he was serious and then giving him a hard time all the time. If someone was talking about doing something people would always say something "I don't know if he will come he might have to go watch a debate". And everyone used to make the same jokes about political debates "If I feel like watching to see who will tell the most lies I might watch", but today it has become like watching a football game.

You can look at social media during a debate and people from both sides are claiming their side is winning and people don't care if what they say is true, they just care about whether their person was able to counter the bullshite the other one was saying, with more bullshite.

They got people exactly where they want them. Picking sides and being angry. The more angry people are the more likely they go vote.
