Instead of letting society brand them as "losers," they choose to be "evil." Evil gets attention and is feared - and doesn't take a lot of effort. Any yahoo with a gun can make the world news.
Basically, it's the easy way out of loser-dom.

Same disorder that causes football players to think that its okay to attack an official.

Gone are the days of brushing it off. My guess is that this student was having trouble, and it wasn't his fault - it was the professors.

Best bet it will be some mentally unstable individual.
We need to go back to locking up crazy people, not letting them wander around.
Tuscaloosa used to have Bryce, Partlow, for normal crazies and Taylor Hardin (prison for the criminally insane). Now they put a lot of these people in half way houses or the are just homeless.
But it will be portrayed by the media as being a gun problem, when it is really a crazy problem.
My hopes are that nobody else is injured and the police kill the shooters asap.
We need to go back to locking up crazy people, not letting them wander around.
