The fx is on the medial side — already wanted him about pt and it’s importance. He’s got a 4wd truck - I can barely get in and think he needs to put running boards for his ease in getting in and out as well.

I had a fracture + dislocation with a partially torn ACL. Left leg so driving wasn’t an issue as long as you can fit in your car with the brace on. After the first few days I could get around on crutches fine without pain. Still hurts to kneel years later.

Avulsion fracture is where the tendon doesn’t tear but the bone where it’s attached failed and broke they will just tack that thing down and go to pt not as bad as a normal tear with recovery.
I am not a doctor I have know several buddies that have had this happen and it was much better recovery than normal your situation could be diff

Yeah he enjoys that side gig but will be doing it from a seated position for a while. Told him he needs to find a ride there and back lol as I typically don’t go. This empty nest thing has us both just doing our thing; I’m just glad that my job is flexible so that I can do whatever is needed.

Think we’ll try Precision here in A town. Can’t get to lft as often as he’ll need. WorkI will be his biggest issue — again, glad he’s got good guys working for/with him.

And just want to say should put to LOS orthopedic walk in clinic. We flew in on December 24 and were at their clinic at 830 on Christmas Eve am. Dr Penton called the PA right back (wanted Perry only because he’d done my knees but PA said Penton was easier to in touch with).

Anyway highly recommend LOS walk in

The surgeon babied my rehab too; he removed about 2/3s of my medial meniscus. I started putting and hitting 1/2 wedges after 2 weeks tho.

I had a bucket handle tear, so they flipped it back around and stitched it back together inside the knee, while also screwing in a cadaver ACL. She probably wanted me off the knee longer but I was getting too restless.

Just two days ago ago someone was spreading the good word about P in A town. I don’t know the personnel however. Wish him luck for me.
<——- also an empty-nester trying to figure out life

ETA: Perry has been on vacay for about 2 weeks. As you know, you’ll be in good hands.

The lead therapist who opened the clinic we know personally — his mom babysat two of our kids.

And I’m here to tell you empty next freaking sucks for me — D doesn’t care either way. It’s a momma thing?

It does suck....worse for momma’s though......which makes it worse for dads.

Wife has cried every day for three months. She needs to get the hell off of Facebook. Netflix helps a little. Alcohol provides only the illusion of help. I drink because I really enjoy urinating.

The return trip from Oxford was brutal for me. We were in separate vehicles so I obviously had to drive. Tears fell often and eventually slowed down but I dread when she leaves to go back in about 10 days or so.

Her sorority father/dtr weekend is in late March — hopefully he’ll be good by then to go. And her birthday is Valentine’s Day so I may make a trip up there just depending around that time.

That said, she’s doing fantastic as I’m sure yours is (where is he?). Staying here or even BR would have held her back — she’s absolutely thriving and loving school and life.

You must be a solid wife if one of your concerns coming out of that surgery is how long it will be until you can kneel on your knees.

Achilles repair here. The hardest thing for him for the first couple weeks will be showering and getting the leg wrapped/unwrapped. He'll need help with that and a shower seat.

I can't speak to the specifics of his recovery. I just know it took me a few weeks before I didn't have any pain just sitting there.

Agree......staying here would have only held them back. They are out of state...far far away, but were home for the holidays, so mother hen was happy.

Several kids from here are in Oxford now, and they probably all know each other. Word is they all love it there.

Doing great. Feel like trying to put a whooping on 2020.

It was a good year for App. We choked in the one game but oh well. I think we return about 14 or 15 starters...

Prayers. It is not easy. Physical therapy and following instructions will be key. I had my ACL/ MCL and a fracture myself about 20 years ago. Techniques are far better today. Just have to be patient and do the work.
