Southern Whites loved slavery considering they were overwhelmingly Democrats. There wasn't a single GOP Senator or Rep. in Congress from the South.

Just cut to the chase & say Southern Whites loved their precious slaves since 99% of House & Senate seats were Democrat( Whites). Pointing fingers at those " evil Democrats " is a passive aggressive way of Southerners criticizing their slave owning ancestors .

Neo Confederates are truly sick individuals. Slavery was abolished in original Northern states like NY, NJ, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Connecticut ( huge New England slave state), etc . without going to war. Southerners ( as confirmed by their Secession articles) simply loved their slaves & were unyielding when it came to the issue of abolition.

The most fascinating thing when losers ( via Confederate Lost Cause) are allowed to write history. Considering the death & destruction they caused trying to tear down the US .......The Union was far too magnanimous after their victory.

And proceeded to father the big fat monstrous blob we know today as the modern American federal government and completely killed the founding father's vision of America in the process.

He got what he deserved at the play a few years later.

No such thing.

Just a term pussies created because of their inability to understand the entire social scape.

Confederates were trying to save the country as established.

It’s certainly a fun time watching posters low key defend the slave states for throwing a fit because they’re man didn’t get elected and they couldn’t force the territories to become slave states

Now matter what they tell themselves in the end it was all about trying to preserve slavery as long as possible

In 1850 half of the nation's millionaires lived in Mississippi ( slave traders). Mississippi had more millionaires than NY & the South had disproportionate political representation due to the " three-fifths " compromise"( The industrial north was picking on those poor helpless Southerners the Neo Confederates claim).

I genuinely want to know , but can't find the answer to how many extra House seats & electoral votes slave holding states received due to counting 3 out of 5 slaves( their property) in the Census?

Lincoln was a tyrant

He was dedicated to preserving the Union even if it meant shredding the constitution to do so. This was the beginning of the end of our constitutional republic.

And Democrats were in charge.

They haven't changed a bit.

Interestingly, some of the same anti-Lincoln posters in this thread would upvote a 2021 post stating “I haven’t seen Democrats this mad since we took away their slaves.”

1. Google slave population of each state prior to the civil war.
2. Google total population of each state prior to the civil war.
3. Google house seats in 1959-1960 and do your own math.

You're welcome.

BTW, were Texans able to count Comanches and Apaches in their population for state representatives? (That's a rhetorical question)
