That's why they're cons.

Are you suggesting that the prison population is on average less violent than those of us walking freely?

truck that old you can buy an ignition with new keys for 20 bucks or so, easy to change

Yep , will need to change at least 1 door lock too, if you are ever going to need to lock it up.

I had a 78 ford. There is a key code associated with the vin. Locksmith can cut a key off the
Code. Or at least the model I had could be done that way..

Is it possible to have a key made for this truck if i wanted to fix it up and use the truck? I believe it was running within the last 10 years.

You must be in Louisiana because there is no way you will get insurance on that thing with no papers...

Check the abandoned property laws for your area. We used that to clamp a bunch of titles on trucks our hunting lease guys left. I think it was 3 years in Texas.

A 1970s truck? Just buy a new ignition switch and install it. They’re like 25 bucks

This does bring up a question, I have 3 old trucks left on my farm. They aren’t mine, they don’t run, and don’t belong to the owner who I lease the land from. They belonged to some employees who worked there before we took over. We didn’t hire them and don’t have their contact info. Owner of land told them to get the trucks before we took over the lease. They never did it. It’s been over a year now, can I legally haul the trucks off to a scrap yard? They are an eyesore

I have insured a vehicle that wasn't registered in my name. Just called and gave them the vin. Policy in my name on the vehicle that technically wasn't mine. I was driving it everyday.
