shite - I had just heard an attorney on sports radio saying he had a decent chance of getting the original conviction thrown out with his current legal team. Wish he would've waited.

He was on serious lockdown and was about to be sentenced to prison for the rest of his life. I'm pretty sure he didn't kill himself because he was being bullied

Yea, housing and feeding our prisoners is just such a fricking bad deal for them. If only they could be treated better, such as in places like the middle east, mexico, etc.

Aren't we supposed to be the moral leaders of the world? The beacons of great true Christian values?

Weak moral arguments such as "well at least we aren't doing this to them" are empty excuses for our pitfalls.

Hence our prisoners are treated the way they are.

Our prisoners are treated extremely well. Take your BS elsewhere.

our incarceration rate wouldn't be nearly as bad if your people stopped breaking so many laws

Our incarceration rate would be so high if our prosecutors and judges fairly and equally applied the law to all people, regardless of race and socioeconomic status.

Solitary confinement, for social species, like Homo sapiens, is as cruel and punitive as it gets. I can suggest some publications for you to read since you clearly have never been educated on this

You don't get put in solitary for no reason.

You can, but I'm pretty confident in my knowledge already.

So are gang fights and hiding shanks in your cell, which are two of the reasons he was placed in solitary

Immnot saying I don't disagree with it as a temporary punishment. I 100% agree that in those cases, you have to put him away for the safety of others and at that period, himself. But years of solitary will mentally destroy a human. At some point you have to try to rehabilitste him

I would say killing someone for no good reason is worse

Yes, lets blame others. The law is not perfect but it is better than any other system in the world.

Well to be fair, he was hanging in by a thread anyway.

Heck no, look at the Nordic countries. They actually try to rehab their prisoners.

I don't feel bad for Hernandez but there's a lot of people that got caught up in the prison industrial complex small things and rather than trying to make them into functional members of society we make them worse.
