Thanks, Jeff Bezos. You piece of shite.

LMAO. You think Jeff Bezos is responsible for the death of shopping malls? Wrong. Shopping malls started dying over 20 years ago when Amazon was just a river in South America.

Retail has always eaten its own and always will. The strip mall centers that are being opened today will be gone in 20 years and we'll be off to something else.

The Mall of Louisiana makes it seem like you're in a third-world country.

Looks like something out of a Jurassic Park movie. I was expecting a Velociraptor to jump into the picture.

There's a guy on YouTube named Dan Bell who does a fascinating series of dead malls. It's really cool to watch.

FYI Amazon was online selling books in '98. Over 20 years ago.

So what killed malls if it wasn't online retail?

Online retail plus shitty watered down generic stores.

Like..If they had stores that offered unique niche items that you cant easily find online (things made by talented locals, etc), it would keep it interesting.

I remember going to North Shore Square Mall during it’s heyday and the parking lot was so full you had to look for a spot. Now, its not hard to find a parking spot, the place is almost a ghost town and its been like that for quite a while, but it is still open.
