it means these kids have no real social interaction with people on a face to face basis. Everything is through a dam screen. They have no clue what its like to enjoy conversation with someone without typing it. They have no clue what its like getting together and doing things with friends without everyone taking pics with phones and saying "hold up let me out this on instagram", or "hold on let me update my status". Its frigging ridiculous
i won't get off your lawn

This is laughable since you are a pretty active member on this social media site.

I get what fb and twitter are created for, and thats fine. Its all the extra that i dont care for.

Ive seen people lose spouses over facebook and instagram.
Don't blame the cheaters, blame the vehicle that made it possible.
ETA, this site has broken up marriages.

it was those "lost connections" where an old high school flame contacts them on facebook 10 years later type of deals that led to more. But i see your point

Like I said, you are an very active member on a social media site that has aided in hookups and breaking up happy homes. What's in a name?
btw, I assume you are honest with your wife on who you are and how much you post here.

I can't tell you how many times this has happened since I joined FB the past year and a half. All the while, they're posting pics of their hubby and kids. Makes me sick! I can barely stand to look at the nudes they send...like 4-5 times before I delete them.

Facebook: "It's dead to us. Facebook is something we all got in middle school because it was cool but now is seen as an awkward family dinner party we can't really leave. It's weird and can even be annoying to have Facebook at times. That being said, if you don't have Facebook, that's even more weird and annoying."
Spot on.

What's funny to me is that the world is so interested in what kids have to think about Facebook when Facebook was invented for my generation when we were in college.
No one gives a shite about my opinion though.

Twitter (passive user) is for news, sports, emergencies etc.
It's the only social media site that has actual value/utility. Which is probably the reason kidzzz don't understand it.

Can you explain this? I find Twitter to only be good for getting people in trouble.
As a communication and news platform, Twitter is essentially unrivaled by most other applications. Unlike most other social media platforms in which you have to create a profile and add friends to get started, on Twitter, you simply select a username. That's it. Unlike Facebook or Instagram, Twitter doesn't really feature the user as the focal point - it's the content that's important.
Since signing up for Twitter 4 years ago, I haven't made a single Tweet. Yet, it's one of my most used applications, simply because I can calibrate the type of information that I want to see. I can follow certain individuals for LSU recruiting news, and can get updates as they occur in real time. I can get updates on sports, tech, and politics, all in a single stream of content that is custom tailored to my interests. Most breaking news hits Twitter first as well, and you can frequently get updates on a given story in real time from people who are directly on the scene.
So, there aren't any pictures of people I couldn't care less about doing things I couldn't feign an interest in, no "like if you agree" posts, no drama, no friends - I can actively use the service while being a relatively passive member, all while staying up to date in areas in which I have an interest.
