Must have meant from the southern tip of Michigan to the northern tip of Louisiana.

Stock wheels can be $800+ a piece on a brand new truck. Factor in tires at $250 per tire and tax and you’re getting close to that $5k mark.

You’d take 55 or 59 so you wouldn’t enter Louisiana in 13 hours from there.

Can’t afford to buy new truck tires in an emergency but are flying to the Caribbean?

I didn’t even pay half that when I got new wheels and toyo muds on my old truck. That’s expensive.

This is probably the reason why they don't have $5k readily available

Detroit is 17 hours driving if you drive straight through and stop for gas/food. Hardly “way more”

With perfect weather and zero construction.... Believe me I have driven it many times... its 20 hours at least........

They need to look at the bright side. While they had to cancel the rest of the trip, they now have stories to tell about New Orleans for the rest of their lives. They should be grateful for getting to experience the true New Orleans.

Of course I have, like a responsible adult I still have some actual money left when I plan a vacation. I also don’t buy 5 thousand dollar tires and wheels though
