Slashing someone's tires is a bitch move and that dude should have went confront him about it.
Why do people feel the need to look down on people because they disagree with their lifestyle? It is possible to not agree with how other people live their life and be diplomatic. And maybe instead of just flat out hating people for they way they are, try to have a conversation with them and try to understand them. That's what I would think a "godly" man would do..

As far as the sign, I'm always fascinated when someone uses God to justify being an a-hole.
Being a pastor I'm not expecting him to support gays, but why be such a prick about it?
