That sounds like a recipe for disaster.

I think the waters on this subject get muddied because workplace hook ups and serious relationships get grouped together

I came to this thread looking for some good, practical advice but all I found was people flaming each other.

Both sound like recipes for disaster though.

Breakups are tough...and would suck even more...if you have to continue to see that person at work all the time.

That's why you never dip your pin in the company ink.

1. This was never about "changing people." It's about encouraging single folks to put their best foot forward and make a good first impression. Show who you are but don't be boring about it; if every photo is you holding a fish, it looks like that's your only interest. If someone os holding a drink in every pic, it makes them look like a drunk. If every pic is a selfie, it makes them look like a narcissist who doesn't hang out with anyone else. And sorry, but some men need a little help in the wardrobe dept. You shouldn't be wearing an LSU t-shirt in every setting.
2. "The good ones worth dating are likely not on a dating app." Umm wtf? Literally just about every person I come across who is single is dating online. Not like you would know, since you said you don't participate. It's pretty small-minded to suggest that individuals who go to a bar or are online dating aren't worth it. That's actually pretty absurd. This is not 1953.

It takes a lot of maturity if you do. I've been pretty successful at it but not perfect. I'm not going to try and date an 18-22 year old and expect her to be mature about things. The couple of serious, work relationships I've had were with someone 25-27. There is a big difference at those ages but you really need to get to know them and assess how mature they are.

How do you feel about a single guy who has custody of his 4 year old daughter and has a goatee. And also provides well for his family? Don't do dating apps or anything cause alot of my time is focused on her getting to enjoy everything she can at a young age. Goatee throw you off? Well trimmed one at that. I just ain't got time to be bringing tons of different girls in her life..

I couldn't even give you a reason ha. Just been there forever. If it's the breaking point with women it may have to go. Just haven't been following dating stuff since I got custody, but she's getting to the point she wants a real mom in her life.

"Time to date bc my kids need a mother figure." That's a benefit to a healthy relationship, but shouldn't be the main reason for getting into one. Date bc you are ready and want that for yourself first and foremost.

Good reply. I think I'm ready. Pretty much sure I am. Just don't want to parade around a bunch of different women around her and she gets to liking one and then we don't work out. Think that is my biggest fear. Maybe have a certain date limit before they meet her

What do you think it says about a person if they have spent years on dating apps and have seen everything?

I think it says they put themselves out there. It doesn't mean a person hasn't had success on there before, but if it doesn't work out, you go back to the drawing board. What? Do you think a person should feel ashamed for utilizing a dating tool off/on for a few years? How's this different from a person doing the nightlife scene off/on for a few years while single? Do you consider that to be pathetic as well?
