A strong man doesn’t need a submissive woman, a sensible woman will follow him knowing he’s doing the best for his family. I may be the breadwinner in my family but my husband is the leader.

My man sounds like a loser who wants a woman who hasn’t seen society move in 40 years

More likely to be killed on Canal Street.
He needs a better venue.

You’re not wrong, but I couldn’t find another street in Nola named after an ear component.

A great marriage is a commitment from both parties.

Well I’ll answer with the caveat that I’d prefer to be wrong and that all marriages are different. I want everyone to succeed in marriage. And this is in no way personal, but rather an overview of marriage from an evolutionary biological perspective.
But here is why. First, refusing the idea that submission is a great ideal in a marriage is an indication that there are gender tensions. A man should naturally be dominant and his wife should naturally be submissive. Her submission makes him much stronger and in turn makes him invest back into her with a real enthusiasm. Because he is being who nature built him to be. Her submission to him should come naturally and it should make them both infinitely more secure and attached.
Second, about her bringing home the bacon, that’s a recipe for disaster. It contradicts women’s natural hypergamic nature and it also undermines his masculinity. You can roll your eyes at that but the social science is pretty clear . Plus women who are the primary earners have much higher levels of personal and marital dissatisfaction. My belief, is because it defies our evolutionary biological nature. Men are best when hunting and dragging it home and women are best in a support family role. A husband may be able to suppress his desire to be the financial “ man” but if he is the kind of man who satisfies a woman like she truly wants ( hypergamy), trust me- he hates it that he is not the primary earner. Now I understand that’s not economically feasible to most, but it’s still the best indicator of long term satisfaction.I also understand that saying things out loud that the entire world has understood for millennia, and that feminism is hysterically trying to teach us to forget, is now de rigueur and “ offensive “. But it’s nonetheless human nature.

I quickly scanned the list below and found nothing better than Canal. (Yes I am bored.) Maybe instead of renaming streets from the confederate era, some could be named for ear parts... like Anvil, Hammer, Cochlea, Helix, Tragus, Lobe.

41 here. Just have a casual relationship. If something materializes from that, the great, but don't stress over it. That being said, my mother gets married this Saturday a few days away from turning 70

further south and east, first stop would be Colombia, but probably better to just go straight to BA
