I thought it was cool. Wasn't meant as a brag but I can see how it would be interpreted that way. I'm comfortable enough with where I am in life that I don't need justification from an Internet forum. It was neat and I wanted to share.

Why are his cars parked outside of a commercial print shop?

Different buddy bought a new vette a few years back and paid to have it turned into a track car. Then he still drive it on the street all the time, I hated getting into it, a pebble on the ground felt like it would shatter your spine

I think you do. You seemed pretty adamant that everyone believe you and seemed pissed when no one did. Sorry your life sucks bro.

The low profile/runflat tires everybody is running now makes it worse. Those hard sidewalls communicate all the road irregularities to the control arms which I think are directly attached to the seats.

Some of the Porsche guys buy new 911s, take all the interior out and put the pieces in plastic bags. Take the factory tires and rims off and put racing tires on it.

Run it for a season, put it all back together and sell it.

"It still smells new!"

"Yep."

Friends tried to get me to track mine but I enjoyed driving it on the road too much. No way I was going to have a track car and one for dd like some of them did.

Plus it was old and older cars tend to break more often on the track.

So the op and a reddit poster took pictures of the same car on the same day at about the same time of day? For some reason op has no pics of him riding in the car or of the car on the road from the interior.

Is it possible he has a successful friend? Sure. I have a really successful in-law, but I don't take pics of his Rolls or AMG GTS.

Tracking them just beats them up too much. Not so much mechanically, but cosmetically. Rock chips all over the paint, windshields gets all sandblasted, etc. Plus, insurance doesn't cover anything.

If you get serious about, having a second car is the way to go.

that "new car smell", that folks love so much

is just the plastics, outgassing, and is toxic...

If I was going to track a car I think I'd want something cheap and fun. Something that a novice driver such as myself could bring to the car's limit.

I feel like driving a 250-300hp car on the edge of the envelope would be more fun than getting like 50% out of some 600HP monster.

There are plenty of affordable cars you can mod and have a blast with on the track. A lot of people swear by the Miata for this.

This is definitely on the short list of what I would consider.

Pretty much designed to be a track car. Or at least designed to be a car that can be made "track ready" easily and cheaply.
