Years ago my niece ( maybe 6 years old or so) was asked to bring us the "phonebook".

She asked " Whats a phonebook, what's that"?

I’m not sure I buy this. Who hasn’t been around a regular phone at a doctors office or a school or seen them in movies.

I believe it. I haven’t seen a landline in at least 10 years and it’s been 20 years since I’ve used one. Wouldn’t surprise me if it was a completely novel concept to some children.

So you haven’t even seen one at a receptionist’s desk or behind the counter at a restaurant?

I work offshore and we have good WiFi where I’m at. If the WiFi goes down these grown men flake out. Had one guy get put on the flotel with no WiFi and he called the contract company he worked for to tell them he was leaving. He refused to be without internet. The shite is astounding.

Subtle “I work offshore” and “I have good WiFi at work” brags noted.

I was blown away by caller ID. Was thrilled that I could know who was calling.
