Scalped one ticket in my life for the Atlanta game coming back to the dome. The guy who bought them was okay with it and so was I.

I read or some news peice sometime ago that it was way easier for the big time scalpers to just reroute the capcha screens to some 3rd world country and have them enter them then to try and create a computer program.

Because the guy who marks up jewelry provides a store, a salesman, advertising, a warranty, any number of services. He's also invested in the company he uses to sell those goods. He's also probably an expert on jewelry or has access to someone who is. He's got something to offer as far as jewelry buying is concerned, he's contributing to society in that way.
This limp dick, on the other hand, provides no services and simply takes advantage of a situation. It's shitty and lazy, he's a welfare queen profiting on shitty behavior.

Actually, society does benefit from what I do. I pay taxes on the profit. If a "fan" had the tickets Uncle Sam wouldn'nt get my extra tax money.

- scalpers time to purchase tickets including service fees, tax & delivery fees
- scalpers time to post on ebay/etc who charges a percentage of proceeds
- scalpers time to physically rebox & reship tickets
- scalper providing tickets to someone for a PROFIT, who was unable to get them

That's a pretty big stretch. If you hadn't cheated the fan out of the money, they could have spent it on someone who actually produces something and paid the same taxes. You're a leach, however you want to justify it.

dude. those tickets would have been sold out in miliseconds regardless, just to a bunch of people who had no life and happened to be refreshing their website like crazy.
at least the scalpers buy them to resell to those people who want to go bad enough they'll pay a premium.

OK, imagine if everyone quit scalping today. If every body just decided it was shitty and they'd all stop, who would be upset? No one, absolutely nobody.
Now try that out with any other profession. If farmers or engineers quit doing their jobs then people would notice pretty quick and nobody would be impacted positively.
If the world is better off without you doing something, then it's probably a shitty thing to do.

I get 99% of my tickets from guy I know Mike Damone. Always has great seats and prices. Especially for concerts.
