Not that they didn't deserve it, they did, but let's call it what it was.

this shite fascinated me as a kid and I researched everything I could find on it back then, if any gang deserved that, they did, that's what dead or alive meant and they had already escaped from what appeared to be no way out scenarios multiple times

Once, back in yute (early 1950s) I came out of a theater in downtown Bogalusa and their bullet riddled car was on exhibit in front of the theater.

How'd they know for sure it was B&C coming down the road at that moment? Would have been a fricking shame if some random mom and pop got mowed down simply cause they drove into the ambush by mistake.

even in modern law enforcement, they arrest the wrong guy from time to time.

The father of one of the gang members agreed to point them out in exchange for leniency for his son. They saw him parked on the side of the road, slowed down and that was that.

There was originally an embankment which was where the lawmen posted up. They must have taken it out when they widened the road.

All the old Whitey's from Bogalusa tell me about "the good ole days". You got any good stories, or any idea where things went wrong for Bogalusa?

Like saying, "hey, y'all ready to surrender?" would have mattered? Frank and the boys did exactly what they should have. Wasn't murder. It was justice for all the murders Bonnie and Clyde had committed.

And, some arse wipe just stole the new bronze marker the parish put up on the site.
