Great movie that has a lot of historical accuracy considering the time it was made. It follows the book very well.

The Gary Sinise narrated documentary is very good. "Tell Jimmy to Get on His Horse"

My grandfather was on the flight deck.

One of his buddies had his arm cut off by a propeller. They all collected money for the guy, as he told it the CO threw in $100.

This is mentioned in the documentary posted above. I think it was the last of the 16 B-25s to take off.

iirc, the “RupturedDuck,” flown by Ted Lawson almost stalled on takeoff after clearing the carrier deck because they forgot to put the flaps out, ground effect saved them
