Mine passed in hospice on March 26 of this year. It’s still not easier, but after spending 4 months watching his physical health take a fast dive it felt like a relief when I got the call.

I know how you’re feeling, but your dad probably would want the same thing mine would for me - to not stay down on his account and to live the life he always wanted his kid to live.

He doesn’t need a suicidal wacko to talk to. Your only reason to not blow your brains out is because your daughter would be an orphan? Yup. Totally stable and worthy of listening to their advice on how to deal with death.

Everyone dies. If you’re not mature enough to handle it, then seek help but you definitely shouldn’t try to help others deal with it.

Been 5 months for me. Stroke at 73. I think about him daily. He was a good friend to me. I didn’t realize till football season one of the things I missed the most is that call on Sunday afternoon b!tching about how much the saints suck. He was a big Saints fan. I miss those calls a lot. He’d even leave a voicemail if I didn’t answer. Wish I had kept one of those voicemails.

Try to move forward asking yourself what would he want you to do.
