This is a LINK to a GoFundMe for a little boy named Ari's family.

Ari received a new heart on March 3rd but went into cardiac arrest last night and is currently on life support. The family also recently learned their house had black mold and is unlivable.

There's a video on the page which shows when Ari was told he was getting a new heart. Not going to lie the video made me cry like a baby, especially when all he wants to do is go home. Whether you can donate or just offer thoughts and prayers this family could really use it right now. I'll never understand why these innocent children are put through such terrible things.

Thanks for posting.

Don't be scared to watch this people. It's tragic and sad but it's good to see things like this not only to keep your struggles in perspective but to put some good thoughts out there for this little guy and his family.

I fully expect 100 down votes, but...

What's all that money for? He has health insurance. Are they really trying to raise a half a million dollars for a new house?

They are also looking for people to donate goods and services: -Architect / designer to put together plans for our house

Man. Come on.

I will pray for Ari to recover but this is a bit... weird.

I didn't get to completely read up on the black mold issues, so I could be wrong, but I'm assuming the house is not salvageable or needs significant work. And there could still be medical cost outside of insurance. Nowadays, a lot of specialized coverage is severely lacking.

Update 3/23/2017 - Things have taken a turn for the worse for Ari. It has been less than three weeks since he received his new heart. Unfortunately, his body has not responded well to the transplant and he has been very sick.

At 8:20pm last night, Ari went into cardiac arrest. He was given CPR for 30 minutes then placed on life support. At that time (and as of now) his new heart was not beating. Doctors are evaluating options and determining what the next possible steps are. Ari's dad was with Ari the whole time, holding his hand and talking to him.

WTF Why are you posting this story here?

I have no connection whatsoever to this family, but as a father myself, can only imagine the heartbreak his family must feel. Please keep them, and him, in your prayers. No child should ever have to go through this. God bless Ari, and may he and his family find comfort in one form or another.

That's why I do peds. It always amazes me and gives me a smile at the reaction kids have. The first thing he wants to know is if he can drink more water.
