One of my ex-girlfriends had a friend with a pit bill and my ex loved that dog. I was always wary of it and pretty much ignored it. I warned her about how much she played and trusted it. Well, not long after we broke up she went to the friends house after going out. As she was sitting on the toilet peeing, the dog came in the bathroom unprovoked and bit her on the face, tearing off a piece of her lip that later required plastic surgery. frick those dogs.

We have a lab as well. She's a great dog also..

We found our pit mix on the side of the road in Gainesville, near death as a pup. Raised him up and he's a fantastic dog. The only thing he doesn't like are bigger dogs than him and even then, he's all bark and no bite. People trying to make this into a breed thing don't really know what they're talking about. I've worked with professional animal trainers/vets/etc. for a decade now and none of them would agree with what is being said by many in this thread.

It's all about how they are raised. Dogs have been domesticated for 10,000+ years and their neural circuitry reflects it.
