Bullies are bullies regardless. At that age the only one making race an issue would be a parent.

Which is where the 12 year old learned it, whether he/she is white or black or brown.

You started this thread. You linked to an article about it and posted excerpts from it.

The very first two words, from the very first sentence in your OP are the mother's name. Blee dat.

My guess is that Dad is just a word in the dictionary to this 12 year old. I can tell you that if my son had even touched a 5 year old girl, my son would not be long for this world.

When I was that age the 12yo would've have had the fear of God put in him/her by other kids on the bus. If they kept pushing the issue, the bully would've have had there arse beat by the other kids on the bus. That would've been the end of it.

Now days there is too much of this zero tolerance bs, and most kids that would prevent this are afraid to do anything out of fear of harsher penalty than the bully would receive.

My daughter is 10 and in the 5th grade. But she’s one of the youngest in her class since her birthday falls in July. Most of her classmates will turn 11 while still in the 5th grade. So having a 12 yr. old in 5th grade isn’t uncommon when you consider how many kids are either held back, especially in kindergarten, or just start school a year late now.

MY birthday is in July too! This is crazy. When I graduated high school, I was 17. When I graduated college I was 26

A 12 year old in 5th grade is not the norm at my kids school. A 10 year old would be younger and an 11 year old older. But 10-11 is the norm. A 12 year old would be uncommon but possible if the kid has issues.

Same. This poor girl.

I rode a K-12 bus when I was in K and remember the high school kids teaching us bad words. When I switched to a public elementary school in second and rode the bus to daycare, we were one of the first to be dropped off/last to be picked up and even in such a short trip a lot of bad things happened. Not the bus driver's fault, the kids knew how to stay under his radar.

I didn’t say it was the norm. I said it wasn’t uncommon. 10-11 yr. old is the norm for all 5th graders. But it’s not uncommon to see a 12 yr. old in 5th grade when you consider kids being held back a year or their parents electing to start them out in school a year late.

I guess I am hung up on you using a double negative with "not uncommon" which to me means Common. It isn't common for 12 year olds to be in 5th grade at my childs school. Is it possible? Yes. But, not common or the norm.

Please excuse my poor grammar. My statement comes from my wife, who works at our kids school, telling me about a growing trend they’re seeing of parents electing to either have their kids repeat kindergarten or starting them in kindergarten when they’re 6 instead of 5. Apparently the notion that older kids in a particular grade perform better is growing in popularity from what she says.

Perhaps. Then again I’ve gone 48 years without ever encountering anyone who gets confused by the term “not uncommon” so there’s that.

Sounds like attempted murder trying to choke her to death - try as an adult then send to an adult prison in the general population.

Maybe, maybe not. But I think there would have been a better chance of the bus driver doing something about this 20 years ago compared to today.
You've seen it all the time where bus drivers get fired for doing the right thing. Maybe this bus driver really needed the job and knew if he/she intervened he/she would get fired? You're fricked if you do, fricked if you don't. Personally, if I were a bus driver, I wouldn't give a frick and beat that 12 year's arse. Then when their parents come a knock, beat their arse too.

i just thought what would i do and first i would have barged on the bus and found the kid and grabed it by the throat. then drug it to the buss driver.... probably beat her arse. then call the cops.
