Gonna be in a state that starts with the letter "M". On the water somewhere in south Mississippi or on a trout river/stream in the mountains of Montana. Either way, it's gotta have water with lotsa fish!

Mountain valley, easy answer for me since that is exactly where I am on my 50 acres. Connecticut River Valley situated in between the Green Mountains of Vermont and the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Stunning views, lowest crime rate in the country, zero traffic...or tragffic lights for that matter. 16 ski resorts within a 90 min. drive, 5 mins from the river and this is my view from my deck or through my picture windows in the living room of my true log cabin.

River right down the road

Garden in the back

Pretty good harvest this year

Tis a glorious life for me

Lake Tahoe
Gorgeous no doubt, love visiting there.

However, I and my people couldn't enjoy it as we're Southerners and need our lakes to have warm water. 63 degrees in summer on the surface and 53 at a foot and a half deep? No freakin way.

40 rural acres within close proximity of Golden, CO and I will move tomorrow. My wife knows that's where I want to live out my retirement. 40 acres to play on just makes it more enjoyable.

Steamboat Springs, Colorado….and it is not even close. You have fine dining, elk hunting, trout fishing, and snow skiing all within a 20-mile radius of town. My favorite place in the world.

Yeah, that's great, but I don't get the "it's not even close". There are plenty of places like that in the Rockies.
Midway, Utah, for example. You have all of that within 10 miles.
