"Administrative Costs" is the reason I never donate to charities. When they call, I either answer and hang up immediately or ask them what percent goes to administrative costs.

How do you really feel?

It's true. The states have been investigating these people for years.

I mean, there's going to be some overhead. You do have to pay people to fundraise, process money, and that phone call does cost money.
It's the ones with 90% administrative costs and 10% giving that create the bad name for the ones that are good.

I think charities should keep their books open and let anyone who donates see where the money goes.
This makes me sick, because who doesn't donate to a cancer charity? The bank hit me up for a dollar the other day, Walgreen's and CVS have cancer drives.
Donations made privately in good faith to caner research and you get this? I stopped giving to Kommen when I found out as much went to salary and litigation as did cancer research, but now I feel like I need to research anytime I make a donation.
I feel the same. The only money I give is for local people who I know have cancer and need help. I'll buy something at a charity auction, raffle tickets, plate lunches...etc. help out like that. I dont participate in relay for life or anything like that.
