I watched the video a couple of times and I could only see the guy in the back of the truck and the guy being drug with the bllod trail , to the back of the truck. Why haven't they posted pictures or identities of the supposed Americans? How do they know who they are and why haven't wee seen pictures?

Or selling ice cream.

Shooting at the ice cream man makes me

Edit: anyone selling ice cream out of a mini van deserves to be shot at.

Also those news chics are hot!

The Daily Mail has a lot of pictures: of the woman sitting on the ground, her being put in the back of the truck, one of the men being put in the truck, two men being tossed into the back of the truck.

They arrived there in a white van with North Carolina plates "to buy medicine".
Daily Mail goes into detail about the cartel that did run Matamoros and has now broken un into feuding cartels.

Somebody was waiting for them to cross the border. Who and why? LINK

Why is the FBI offering a 50k reward? Are they international now? Or is that border such a mess.....

i went to military school in harlingen texas for my junior year of high school. every saturday we would take the bus to the border, and cross on foot. Lots of fun things for a 16-17 year old to do back in 1990 in matamoras.

edit, my parents though i could get in trouble back home so they sent me there. hahahaha. much more trouble to get into over there. they just had no clue.

you do some bushwacking over there?

We can tighten up the amount of arms that are freely flowing to and through Mexico. I don't know if the NRA would allow it, though.

Crossing into Matamoros, not exactly a tourist hotspot, in a van with North Carolina plates? There's definitely more to this story.

Also the guys that did this clearly set it up. They had body armor and were kitted out. This wasn't some random kidnapping.

Don't get me wrong going to Mexican border towns is insanely dangerous and no one should do it, but this is something else.

Ya, it really doesnt make much sense right now.

Now it says they were caught in the crossfire of two groups.

quote:

The FBI said the group entered Matamoros through Brownsville, Texas. They had travelled in a white minivan with North Carolina license plates, and were there to buy medicine ended up caught in the crossfire between two armed groups, according to Mexico President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

Daily Mail (link above) now says the four in the van were mistaken for a Haitian Gang.

Pictures of the victims will be the lynchpin on that line.
Miami plates on the van...would be more plausible.

Sounds like they are possible drug runners/mules that got sideways with the cartel they work for or a rival cartel.

Man, I hope they clean up Matamoros. There's a place on the southern end of that town that sells Mexican panga fishing boats at the Mexican price. If it wasn't so overrun with cartel risks, I'd be fishing in one of those hulls right now.

What is a panga fishing boat?
The panga is a type of modest-sized, open, outboard-powered, fishing boat common throughout much of the developing world, including Central America, the Caribbean, parts of Africa, the Middle East, and much of Asia. The original panga design was developed by Yamaha as part of a World Bank project circa 1970.

Snow birds in South Texas still cross the border weekly for meds. All know to go to Nuevo Progreso and to stay the hell out of Matamoros, we aren't getting the whole story here. Not surprising. Growing up in the 80's a couple of hours from Acuna and Nuevo Laredo were times I wouldn't trade but I'll keep my gringo arse on this side of the creek the rest of my days. I have men that work for me that live in McAllen and asked them if they would go pick me up one of those Pangas in Matamoros and they told me I was crazy for even asking lol. They said they would meet the guy in Reynosa but that know one that isn't connected to the cartel goes to Matamoros.
