Yep, 49 government workers standing around while 2 do all the work for about 3 months to smooth out some mud. Typical gubment job. Give the doofuses a fine for going off-trail and call it a day.
AND if you actually read the article, they said the may spray the area with a hose and smooth it out with a rake. No kidding.

Will be contracted. You should volunteer for a park for a week and then come back and tell us about how they have workers available. For example, Death Valley has one equipment operator and one diesel mechanic total. They have 3 operators under contract and 2 mechanics. Parks don’t have the budget or manpower you seem to believe they do.
Was there for 3 weeks in November helping with the flood recovery. Death Valley, like many parks, doesn’t have housing for employees and the nearest town with accommodations is about an hour away.

Good. Anyone who puts neon green wheels on a truck should lose their license.

In no way do I support what these idiots did. Leave it to resolve on its on. It’s mud. I’ve been to enough NP’s to know the routine. I paid $80 for an annual pass for a carload of people to go to all national parks for a year. That’s too cheap.. It’s $30 for an annual pass per vehicle to DVNP . $15 for a person to visit. What? You can’t take 4 people to a movie for that. They need to quadruple the entrance fee and staff up, OR stop wasting money on silly things. But talk about increasing fees and the hippies start crying it’s not fair. It’s 3.4 million acres and this is some mud on 200 or less yards.
My taxes pay for a ton of services already. I love national parks and support them as much or more than most. Make the perps clean it up themselves as community service, in summer!

It's hard to believe that there are grown men who think trucks that look like that are cool

Proves the exception to the notion that buying a used rental is a good thing.
Never fails that some people can't appreciate anything without climbing or driving all over it.
