Seems like the officers did a good job of escalating this situation. The driver did take 1 minute and a half driving to a well lit area which is probably the reason for the hostile engagement. does seem like they had a chance to get through this with a civil conversation with the driver rather than pepper spray + combat tactics
what say the OT. who is at fault here?

The drivers at fault.
Driving without license plate
Ignores police orders
Forces the door shut when they go to get him out
Refusing to get on the ground
Why do I even have to respond to your dumbass question

he has temporary plates because its a new vehicle. even if the cops couldnt see them while driving they should have been able to once he stopped

"Put your hands out the window and turn your vehicle off!"
Giving commands that cannot both be followed. Just like the kid they lit up in the hotel hallway.

Without watching I’m going to guess the cops were dickheads and the driver woefully misunderstood what rights he does and doesn’t have in these situations.

I saw a national news report a little bit ago where an Army General in DC said he was proud of the soldier for how he handled it "professionally".
Sorry Maj. Gen Doofus, soldiers are taught to obey orders. It's pretty much the first they drill into a recruit. Not complying w/ the demands of the officers isn't professional. It's trying to get a payday.

"I'm afraid to get out of the vehicle."
YOU SHOULD BE! says the cop.
Two cops with guns on the guy and the cop himself only says they have stopped him for a traffic violation.
Great look for our police in this country.

After all the bullshite hype died down, most people in the Army community agree this LT handled this situation rather poorly and is just looking for a payday.

You seem like the kind of person who calls someone a sheep for wearing a mask when requested.

Looks like the LT has a soul patch and mutton chops going on.

They’re not taught to take orders from non military personnel

I'm not giving them a pass on this, but if there wasn't a red circle pointing out the temporary plates I would not have noticed them. So maybe the cops missed them too.

Guy should’ve done as instructed and not prevented the cops from doing their job.

Sergeant Major of the US Army Michael Grinston, the highest ranking enlisted soldier in the US Army, took to Twitter to offer his support to Mr Nazario today.

Guess they're not teaching much common sense in those CRT classes either

Cops escalated that wayyyyyyy beyond what was necessary.
"This is fricked up."
I agree with the LT.
