They were stupid tards to be doing this at their age, yet that does not mean they needed to die.
Their actions of ringing and running then participating in the car chase are not insignificant in their cause of death.
I am fairly confident there is going to be more to this story than what has been presented thus far.

I totally understand kids having fun with pranks. I had some neighbor hood kid doing this to our house. The first 20 times are easy to blow off. It really gets annoying after 50-60 times esp when you are sleeping or sick.
My solution was to pull his picture off the security camera and watch to see where he went afterward.
I waited until one of his late night pranks and then went to his house rang the door bell and had a talk with his parents.
First thing mommy says it was not my angel. I handed her several photos off the security camera. Pranks came to an end.
