Easily in my Mount Rushmore of comedic actors. Whether a cameo or the lead the guy was just incredible.
Conan O’Brien tells a great story of being the national lampoon writer assigned to pick up and drive candy around one day when Candy was visiting campus. Conan says they say never meet your hero, but in this case Candy couldn’t have been a nicer, funnier and more normal guy as he drove Candy around running errands with him for a day.
Trains plains and automobiles is an all time great comedy. Steve Martin and John Candy as an oddball couple is tough to beat.

Phenomenal actor, I’ll be rewatching most of his movies forever. I sometimes wonder the roles he’d have had, or other actors he’d have collaborated with in the years following his passing. Anyone’s guess, but surely he would have been in some more classics
