Normal trigger is 10 mph over, but its only 6 mph over in a school zone.

If you plan on going back to NOLA and don't pay the ticket you'll end up with a boot on your car.

got a ticket for 22 in a 20 in a residential neighborhood yesterday from some HOA officer.

Speedometers are not 100% accurate. +2 mph is easily within 1 standard deviation.

I would write the HOA expressing their commitment to keeping neighborhood streets safe, but demand to see better discretion when giving out citations. You should then itemize your time spent on the stop and addressing the ticket. Put a dollar value next to it, and suggest they waive the ticket, or you will charge for your time.

Of course this is all bullshite as is often the case when dealing with most HOA claims.

You can also RUN right thru a stop sign, when you are actually running. Doesn't mean you don't have to stop when you are driving!

trade your car in for an ATV...police won't care and you can speed all you want.

Expand the territories for both the hoods and the city, and you're right.

FYI I don't say "the police" are robbing you because the camera thing is a fund raiser for the city.

I really can for about 20 feet.

Broadmore/Broadway? @ some school.
School zone maybe, did not say or charge more,it was 4:15pm.
Here school zone speeding is big $$$ fine, so I don't think so.
Speed limit enforced by camera.
NOPD Officer "signed" the ticket, not NOLA
I'm not local, but I'm there frequently.
I get the traffic engineering concept of speed limits vs. human reaction times, congestion, etc, but 26 to 0 vs 20 to 0 breaking time is negligible.

My issue is 20 mph is a trap limit and the section of road is bait. The only way to not get a ticket is to drive 15 and bump the gas to 20.

It's like the four-lane highway that jumps from 35 to 55 at the city limit, but he local PD is parked 50 yards in front of the first 55 sign.

It's only $75 but still. If it keeps the drinking water clean I'll pay it.

Actually, more like 91 mph.

That is probably more of a county jail violation than a prison one.

Is there a way to check and see if you have any outstanding camera tickets?

Thats a whole lot of rationalizing a well deserved speeding ticket.

I dont know if that works or not, but when you go 26 you are speeding. It sucks, yes, but I dont get the reason you think you should even worry about it.

I don’t think you understand what a speed limit of 20 means.
