They better get that shite under control. Seems like this type of thing was kept out if the touristy areas in the past. Talk about screw up you tourism . Start capping people who are just visiting and watch the dollars dry up.
agreed...I am currently working on a conventinon that will book a couple of thousand hotel rooms in the quarter...this makes me rethink that....

Obviously because no one parties all night long in Nola. All of the tourists are in bed by 11:00 pm.

If I've learned anything from the NOLAites on this board it's that locals DONT go to Bourbon St.

I don't go downtown at night ever. I prefer the walking around during the day having lunch, drinks, and not getting shot.

A) Is conventinon Spanish for 'convention'?
B) If you would let an isolated incident like that be the base of your argument, then you're doing a disservice to the people you're planning your conventinon for.
C) ?
D) Profit.

I was not really hoping you got shot..that was just another attempt at old person's humor.
At what point does it stop being isolated though? Does it have to happen every month? Week? Day?

I thought those CCW holders were supposed to prevent this sort of thing. What happened? Did they all run for cover?

Your pathetic attempt at a "gotcha" moment is yet another huge Progressive fail.
CCW holders are not allowed to carry in a bar or club. If one of your fellow Democrats decides to shoot up an area like this one, chances are the LAW ABIDING citizens who are CCW holders will have left their guns at home or in the hotel.
Nice try, dumbass.

Most uninformed statement in this thread. I'd say MOST people still out at that time are tourists. Major problem is that as it gets later in the night, the police "force" seems to dwindle. I work on Bourbon, my walk to work at 6am always has me watching my back. Hookers and drunken pimps are free to do as they please. No police anywhere.

7 getting shot in the FQ - do you find that happens often? I'm not talking about the entire city of NO - I'm talking about the FQ.

Shooter will get off easier than teabagger. Lawless city.

7? No, not that often. But realistically THAT is where the tourists are going to be. THAT is where folks have heard about and THAT is what must be kept safest. I just think it speaks poorly of the efforts when a big chunk of money is from outsiders. When I visited with the lovely Mrs LCA many moons ago (N.A.-speak) we were warned to "go here, but do NOT go here or here or here"...When the crimes start happening in the "go here" places it will have effects. Keep it patrolled most heavily and let the animals kill each other in the "NOT here" places.
I need some oatmeal.

Wow,
My daughters wedding was last night and we were at Pat O's until 1:00 afterwards. Glad we got to the hotel before the shooting started.
People are crazy.
