My take on the two is if you are looking at a lower-trim 4Runner go with the 4Runner, if you are considering the 4Runner Platinum, then get the GX Premium instead much nicer all around for practically the same money. Plus you get more HP and a lot more torque. However, I wouldn't bet on which powertrain will last longer.
My view is if you are basically buying an on-road vehicle. If you need or want more off-road capability the cost spread gets wider.

I thought that in person the Land Cruiser looked nice.. but tbh Im fortunate to be able to ride (via SE Asia's version of Uber) in some awesome Evs every day like Aion, Jaecoo, Neta, etc.. but the BYDs ive been in ("Build Your Dream") are the nicest EVs, nicer even than any Tesla ive driven.. so my next vehicle purchase will most likely be a BYD .

The 4cyl hybrid kills it for me. Same with the 4runner. If it has the LX powertrain with less luxury electronics crap, I'd buy one tomorrow.
