Every single fundraising event of this type is the exact same thing. These events for tons of different causes take place every weekend. If this was called something other than best dressed or took place anywhere other than BR no one would care about it.

Yeah I mean I don't think anyone is going to this truly feeling it's their only/best way to donate to ACS.
Don't get me wrong. The fundraising hour during the event is cringe beyond belief. But weirdly, it works at getting people to donate. So from ACS's perspective, I get why they do it the way they do.

I think everyone is missing the point of the shade that’s being thrown….
Nothing against raising money for cancer or whatever the cause..
It just funny that Baton Rouge is having a “Best Dressed” ball.
I don’t think most people relate Baton Rouge to be very fashionable…that's the joke.
