So why do you turn them over so quickly?

Have always sold them between 80 and 120k miles. Seems to be the most cost effective time. Plus we like new stuff. Most of the time, if you know the body style year changes, you'll see that we upgraded to a new body style.

99-02 was a different style
02-07 was a different body
07-09 we had more kids and went from yukon to yukon xl
09-14 was a new style and had 120k on the 09
14-17 had 90k on the old one and found a crazy good deal on a new Denali with the 6.2

Exactly. Then they follow it up with a 30A joke while they are packing 10 people into a motel room in galveston during the summer.

I'm willing to buy an American car for 75k (reluctantly)

But these awful interiors are deal killers

It's the edging/bezel that makes it look so bad. Having the "tablet" screen that sticks up is fine if it's sleek - looks good.

It's that they surround it with cheap plastic silver edging and it looks like you took some knock off chinese tablet and stuck it on there. I don't understand why it's so hard for American and Japanese makers to bring interiors in line with what European cars are doing. It just looks so much nicer.

The problem is they just don't want to do a full revamp. Everything is just a small tweak or minor update on the last model. And you're not getting the tech that you would in, say, a Mercedes at a similar price point. Especially on something like the Denali.

Don't get me wrong it's an excellent vehicle and I am planning to get an AT4 once the late year options are introduced, I just wish the tech finishes were commensurate with other vehicles in the class.

wonder if the screen will still slide up for hidden storage?

Look at the dash of the 2020 GLS:

Their infotainment system is off the charts, easy to use from touch screen, steering wheel or center console trackpad. And the entire thing is fully customizable. You can pull your whole nav screen right in front of the driver and squeeze the speedo into a corner. You get the gist.

The newest Yukon is now on par with the later model of the GLS:

Driving my 2010 for several more years I think. Have about 90k miles on it. I honestly love this Tahoe. I only drive it to work for most part.

sold my 2012 recently and went with a new 4-Runner. I'm pretty sure I paid around 37k for my LT in 2012. Just didn't want to spend 60+ to get a new one.

You like the GLS dash and I hate it.

Different strokes for different folks.

Yep, although I don't think the GMC is even up to the standard of the older GLS, but that may be personal preference.

I have not sat in either, but I'm going to guess the fit and finish on the older GLS and the materials exceed even the Denali posted earlier. And I understand we're in different classes, but that's why it feels so wasteful to pay the higher prices now commanded by these American SUVs.

My last New vehicle was 105k or so after taxes. My current daily is 5 years old and about to hit 200k.

That yukon is still a POS.

I'm actually not a huge fan of the dash, especially the stack of air vents right in the middle. My only point is their emphasis on the information screens and system. Having that type of versatility and customization versus the absolute latest Denali with a static gauge cluster is not even in the same league but are very similar in price.

I'm not 25 and I'm not minimum wage. I was raised in a drag racing, GM product loving family. That being said...

We have a fleet of dually trucks at my company. They pull 24,000 lb goose neck trailers. It's 95% interstate miles. We absolutely cannot keep the GM (Chevrolet) products on the road. Leased 6 new 2019 Chevys and none of them made it past 15,000 miles without being in the shop. NONE OF THEM.

As a born and bred Chevy guy, it pains me to say this, but the Fords we have on lease have been almost trouble free.

The operations manager over the fleet has requested they do not lease another GM manufactured truck.

I have no doubt the Yukon is of the same quality and reliability standard.

With GM it is really about what motor you buy

I will never buy any GM product ever again other than their 5.3L V8

Mine comes from owning an '08 Denali that looks like a psycho ex-girlfriend took a hatchet to the dashboard, air shocks died, couldn't gas up at full pump speed.

But it never left me stranded in 190K, so...

And it will fall apart at 75K miles. Congrats on wasting 70K+ on a GM POS !

I've owned a Tahoe and Suburban put 175k/166K on them before trading them in and never had a single problem. All you have to do is take care of them and they'll last a long time.
