This is crazy! I just found one in my house about 15 minutes ago. Cat was playing with it, chasing it. Had to do a double take when I realized that's what it was. Never seen one that close up. I'm calling the pest control company tomorrow.

NOLA is a termite infested shithole. They don’t have swarms like that in decent cities

Yep, I just stomped one that had designs on eating on my wood floors.

Let that be a lesson to all the other termites in the Ritzy section of south downs.

Live in Old Metairie. They were horrible last night, swarming tonight but not nearly as bad. Early for those bastards. It’s not even May yet.

Did you dig the trench and apply it?

Does it work?

Mix .80 oz per gallon of water. Mix four gallons at a time. Dig trench around the perimeter of your slab 6” deep and 6” wide and 10’ long. Pour mixture into trench. Immediately put the dirt back into the trench, ensuring the dirt is soaked as well. Repeat until your entire perimeter is treated. The active ingredient will bond to the soil around your slab for nearly 10 years, but I would reapply every few years to be safe.

If you have an existing infestation, you can open up the wall where the termites are and spot spray them, along with the studs.

Terminix bait stations take up to three years to eliminate a colony. This stuff takes three months to do the same. Look up Termidor (Taurus is the generic but same exact active ingredient and same %) - you literally won’t find one single negative review. In fact, there’s one article that explains that now that Termidor’s patent expired, allowing the generic Taurus to be created and sold to the public, it may end up putting an end to termite companies since it could potentially whipe out all colonies in the country if enough people buy and use it.

I recently bought some and treated my perimeter. I didn’t have termites (that I know of) and am already under contract with Terminix, but figured it couldn’t hurt.
