Well, I just got home from Ralph's. As I was leaving with a cart full of groceries, these large drops of what appeared to be water began to fall on my head and on all my groceries. They seemed to be dropping out of the sky. Shortly after, they slowed, then stopped. Now, it's extremely hot. Any idea what's going on?

I just looked out the window to confirm and saw some dry air going by.
Shelter in place.

That reminds me of SoS last week. When that rain storm came through, he posted a pic of his backyard that a neighbor sent to him at work. It was a tree limb resting on his fence. There appeared to be no damage, it was approximately 4 inches in diameter. He commented that his back yard was a "lake", however, the pics did not show any water exceeding the blades of grass.
He was concerned, and was seeking advice about leaving work early to take the branch off of his fence and toss it into the woods behind the fence. It was riveting stuff, and brought back memories of Katrina and the Superdome.

Prayers sent...Seeing as you are posting, I am relieved that you appear to be okay. Stay strong, Festus.

Hold that thought. I see some white fluffy clouds, mixed in with some darker clouds. I'm not out of the woods yet. :(

Raining here in Austin.
The outer bands are upon us.

Sincere prayers sent. You know you and sis-in-law always have a room here to stay if things get too bad. And plenty of weed to smoke with my boys.

Not true.
I know where it's going, but I only sell my knowledge to the oil companies and the Chinese government (Democrats don't pay as much as Republicans).

OUTLOOK
NWS NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL
200 PM EDT SUN JUN 14 2015
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
A surface trough of low pressure has moved off of the Yucatan
peninsula and into the southern Gulf of Mexico this afternoon. The
system is accompanied by an area of thunderstorms and winds to
near gale force well to the east of the trough, but it does not yet
have a well-defined closed circulation. This weather system is
expected to move northwestward over the next couple of days across
the western Gulf of Mexico, where upper-level winds are forecast to
gradually become more favorable for tropical cyclone formation. An
Air Force Reserve Unit reconnaissance aircraft will investigate the
system late this afternoon, with another mission planned for
Monday morning. Interests in and along the northwestern Gulf of
Mexico should monitor the progress of this system. For additional
information, please see High Seas forecasts as well as products
issued by your local National Weather Service Forecast Office.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...high...70 percent
* Formation chance through 5 days...high...70 percent

Sunday 6/14/2015 - 11:05 am ET/10:05 am CT: Highlights from my latest morning update on Invest 91-L.
- 85 to 90 percent chance that this will become Tropical Storm Bill in the western Gulf of Mexico on Monday.
- Main impact will be extreme rainfall and major flooding across southeast, east and central Texas and the western half of Louisiana from Monday through Wednesday.
- Pattern is very reminiscent of Allison in 2001 and I have great concern that we will see that type of rainfall and flooding (Allison-Like Rainfall Totals).
- Everyone across southeast, east and central Texas and western and southwest Louisiana, including Houston, Galveston, Beaumont, College Station, Tyler, Texas, Lake Charles, Lafayette and Shreveport, Louisiana needs to take this rainfall threat extremely seriously.

I run my generator once a week for an hour, and I have 500 MREs* left over from Katrina, so I am not worried.
