BR took it worse for Rita than Katrina .. when Katrina passed, you wouldn't have known there was a major hurricane just 90 miles to our east if you weren't watching TV .. but Rita's winds in the middle of the night, here, were pretty impressive ..

You're one of the very few .. i never lost power for Katrina and didn't Rita either .. I don't equate storm strength with how long my lights are off ..
ETA: not much of BR lost power for long periods of time in Katrina .. that sounds like a power grid issue more than the storm .. I don't think we had a gust get into the 50s for Katrina
