Anyone have experience with either car? Pros/Cons?

Subaru is AWD, rather than FWD like the Rogue.

Rogue is for gay guys
Outback is for lesbians
That's all I've been told.

Subaru is a very good brand. I like the forester more than the outback though. Its cheaper too.

Left is right, right is wrong.

throw the Mazda CX-5 in the mix. If they'd bring that damned diesel here, there'd be no contest.
Or make an Allroad/Alltrack version of the new VW Sportwagen.
Why is it so hard to combine 3000+lb towing capacity, with true 30-40mpg, 8" + ground clearance and optional AWD?
Outback is getting close. but i question what towing 2700lbs in a gas 4cyl would render in performance and mpg. i'd go with it over Nissan though.

If I had to admit to people that I drove a "Rogue" or I could walk, I'd walk.
Subaru all day. Fuji > Nissan.

Buying a brand new is the worst possible thing you can do with your money.

I've got a '13 Outback 2.5. Nothing but good to say about it so far.
Pro - AWD, great in the snow, good mpg for AWD (about 23/28 in the summer for me, subtract about 1-2 in the winter) I like the ride (YMMV) good space inside, lots of rear-seat legroom.
Cons - fulltime AWD transmission is very sensitive to differences in tread depth - tires need to be rotated at every oil change (at 7500 intervals -- synthetic required) and if I ever need to replace a tire that's too damaged to fix, I need to replace all 4 to keep them equal.
