I was working on pacing and finished R1 in 2 min, but everyone is struggling keeping pace on chest to bar.
My hope is that I can finish round 2 and get as many reps as possible in R3.

Yeah I think he said he knocked out rd 1 in 1:20 and rd 2 in 2:00 said he just pussy footed on rd 3 and finished with 13 reps on the chest to bar

If I have time I'm going to do the scaled version after work.

The Outlaw Way has a pretty good video on how to tackle 15.2 and it's all based on trying to keep your HR under control by breaking everything down in small sets.
R1: 5 reps, break, 5 reps
R2: 4 reps, break, 4 reps, break, 4 reps
R3: 5 reps, break, 5 reps, break, 4 reps
R4: 4 reps, break, 4 reps, break, 4 reps, break, 4 reps
...and so on.
They had a HR monitor on someone while they tried multiple rep ranges and found that trying to go unbroken in OHS caused the HR to spike 15-20 bpm higher than someone doing smaller sets. The same with butterfly chest to bar pullups.
The amount of break time you take is based on how fast/slow you are performing your reps.
You may get to a point where you just have to do as many as you can due to time, though.

I plan on wearing my Garmin with HR monitor just to see it.

Just did 15.2 about 2 hours ago. Improved on last years score but only by 2. Went from 76 to 78.
Tried to go and do it yesterday, but last minute daddy duty came up on my way to the gym. Was trying to give myself 2 days to recover if it didn't go as well as I had hoped. Still going to give it another shot Monday.
Had a guy destroy his score from last year. He improved ~ 35 reps. We're about the same age (actually, he's a few months older), both about same shape and I had about 8-10 reps on him last year. Frustrating that I improved so little compared to that.

If you want to see a nice improvement for someone from last year, look at Kara Webb who went from 340 to 414.
The break point between R6 and R7 is 360 so she basically improved by 20 reps to get to R7 where she piled on another 54.
I expect Froning, who was one CTB Pullup from finishing R6 LY, to do 420-430 in 15.2.

I realize I'm a week behind
But just did 15.1 and 15.1A.
I follow Outlaw from a week behind since I can't always workout on the same set days. And I'm not gonna make regionals so I don't care about submitting my scores for the open.
But I got 124 for 15.1A and 255 for 15.1B
I definitely should've gone harder on 15.1A. I was too worried about my hands ripping, and I went at too steady of a pace, to the point where I never really went all out.
But, I doubt I would've got 255# had I pushed harder, so it evens out I suppose.

I got 48 reps lol. Only my second time doing overhead squats. I'm just not comfortable with the lift.

Yeah. It's tough to get the feeling for OHS in the beginning.
It still feels awkward for me and I've done them for months now.

My shoulders are toast from that workout. I can feel it in my core. Tomorrow should be interesting. I want to get at least 6 miles in tomorrow morning.

shite, I only got 63 reps
I cruised thru R1 and my shoulders fatigued greatly on the 1st set of 12 OHS.
I was hoping to get into R3, but, alas, I did not.

I don't know how I'll do on this tonight. I am not great at kipping bar movements but I can smoke the OHS. I am hoping that my 10k prep of 5RDS of 800m/5MuscleUps as my CF warmup every day will give me some much needed endurance.
I want to say last year I got some 70 something. Missed RD2 by about 4 reps

SO was a former gymnast so she just kills butterfly PUs/C2Bs. She is hoping for 168+ (3Rds plus whatever she gets after that)
Her thing is all mental. She should get 200+ but she turns into a baby sometimes

disappoint in 15.1 with 155 and 245 clean & Jerk arms were spent. Hopefully improvement from 152 score from last year

I'll probably set a date sometime in September to retry all of the 2015 Open workouts.

If I keep going on my ridiculous health kick, I should crush my scores if I do this. I got lazy in my workout routine the past year and gained about 25 pounds. Lately though, I have been doing a ton of extra work, longer chippers on my own and eating very healthy. Lost about 15 (@215) and going to try and lose ~40 altogether. 5'11 ~230->~190. If I did that, I would be at around 10% BF and shredded/CrossfitBro status

I skipped today's workout. Sinus crap has been dogging me for a while.
I may do some work on squat clean and jerks at light weights tonight to work on technique.
