Maybe but both did it for me

Started out horribly by having thin skin and not understanding how message boards work. I was banned several times early on due to being a complete little bitch. burnt bridges with Chicken and some admins which I think have been repaired, at least with Chicken.
I still get ruffled occasionally, but not like in the beginning. I know that my Skillet character is only amusing to a handful of posters and totally annoying to the masses, but I'll never change.
TD.com is an incredible message board where you can get better news & sports info than anywhere else, along with being entertained as well.

Going on 15 years. This place can be highly entertaining at times. Plus when they were trying to go full retard censorship on social media during Covid this was on of the few places that didn't. At one point this seemed like the last place for free thought on the internet.

I am only 18 years, so I don't know if I am qualified to respond.

I’m almost 18 years, never post though. Introduced by a younger co-worker when I was in BR in 05. Registered in 07 and now live near College Station, so this is my go to for LSU and La news.
I keep a tab open and regularly read the Outdoor, Money and Political boards . . . and The OT as a time waster. I don’t have any online presence except for LinkedIn.
So, I’m just an old lurker.

Are you addicted? What keeps you coming back every day? Is this Facebook for baws who don't want any other social media presence?
TD is uniquely the best laid out, best formatted, best moderated message board on the internet with a fantastic user base. It’s equally good for news, entertainment, and daily time passing conversations.
It doesn’t matter what your opinions are or how stupid or smart you are, you are free to post all day anywhere you want. Thats also unique.
The core daily user posting base is mostly made up of slightly retarded like minded gulf coast people who just want a place to bullshite as we get through the day. But when the chips are down this place has performed some amazing things for people in desperate times.
Whether you’re a home and garden aficionado, or a lurker, or a home chef, or a juice head gym rat, or in an OT high school level clique, or a poliboard lunatic, or saints fanatic, or negatiger, or oddball poet, or decades long troll, or Amazon expert, or Chinese wuhan lab refugee, or son of a vigilante, or attention starved woman, or dog costume fetishist, or trailer park king, or sad lonely stroke victim, or appliance repair tech, or custom guitar builder, or bitcoin swinger, or gay Soccor fan, or photoshop professional, or jambalaya calculator, or PC v console junkie, or legendary YeYe, or bizarre autistic Ignatius J Reilly, or anything else and in between you can find a home and a friendly community on this dumbass board we’ve all wasted too much time on.

Best source for local news. Quick and mostly accurate.
An example is that I hear a loud boom near my house. Within minutes someone posted about a car accident at the intersection around 5 blocks away and an electrical post getting smoked in the process.
I don't post often nor do I pay much attention to the personalities of individual posters.
Except Kige bc he is a national treasure that should be guarded like the nuclear codes.

I forgot to add…for those of us who have moved out of LA, this site helps us stay grounded and connected to our roots. I’m in a very different place than south LA, and I’m glad I have this place to keep me in check. South LA folk are much more real than most others. It’s one of the things I miss the most.

She made an account to join in on a trashy TV show discussion thread. We ended up exchanging emails to chat off board. At first, I wasn’t entirely convinced she wasn’t a catfish since we had so much in common.
Keep going. I think I know how this ends.

i was in a dark place in the death throes of my first marriage and longing for a way to share my excitement and concern about LSU's chances of making it to the BCS championship. like you, i was living out of state and LSU 'friends' were few and far between.
i dont think i could get that hawaii game on tv at the time so i needed a place where LSU fans were 'ranting' about the chances we had for making the championship game along with a primitive 'play by play' thread itself of that game that wasn't over until like 130am.
i was hooked
