I agree Archibalds is better but that shack over on MLK in Northport is not exactly game day dining material.

I've been eating it 7 or 8 Saturdays a year since I was 5. No looking back.

Surprised no one else has chimed in on Nick's in the Sticks, their steaks are damn tasty and very reasonably priced.

TACO CASA

Another highly overrated local favorite. Look until just a few years ago Tuscaloosa didn't have a restaurant scene. When you put sloppy joe meat on a bun and call it a taco burger that people accept as a local delicacy I have news for you....

Nick's in the Sticks,

Out of towers can't find it. No sign. They will wander around west end and get killed - I don't want that on my hands. Plus you can't give away all the secrets.

They could just go to the mall on gameday.

City Cafe is awesome because they pile your plate as full as they can get it, and you end up paying like $4. And I actually enjoy the food a lot. Their fried green tomatoes are legit.

If you consider canned vegetables to be an awesome meat and three, I feel sorry for you.

Go eat at Avenue Pub. Probably the best food in TTown.

If brunch, I'd recommend the Chicken+Biscuit+Gravy.

For lunch/dinner I'd go with the burger or steak sandwich.

Their mimosas are dope. Hell, all their mixed drinks are dope.

Chuck's Fish, Archibald's in Northport, Nicks in the Sticks, Big Bad Wolf BBQ nachos, Cypress Inn, Waysider or City Cafe for breakfast.

Nicks was great back about 15 -20 years ago. Latest owner died a year ago or so. I went a few weeks ago and got my regular: large filet, baked potato and onion rings. It was good except the steak (large filet) was about the size of a half dollar. Price is good, but next time I will order two.

My recommendations would be Chucks, Five, Archibalds (original location in Northport for lunch only), Depalmas.

Quik Grill is good for a lamb gyro

Glory Bound has a decent gyro as well. Archibald's is a must.

One of the lamest places I've ever been tailgating. They have a noise ordinance and music is not allowed to be turned up or any types of sound systems are allowed. The strip of bars is decent, but don't have too high of expectations.
