19th JDC jury duty

I've been summoned. I've had it once before, but was dismissed at lunch on the first day. Has anyone actually had to report all week if they weren't selected?

I only had to report for one morning before being dismissed for the week.
I guess it depends on how many cases the court is expecting to see that week and how many settle before jury selection.

I've been summoned like 3 times and I never made an appearance. No charges or warrants either.

I had to go three days in a row before they finally dismissed the remaining jury pool. Must have been 200 people to begin with. No jury was selected. The first couple of days, I was sent home around 2 PM. The third day, noon.

quite often...I was there couple of weeks ago...
around 10am there was an announcement that there was a 2 week trial about to begin and since there was not previous notice anyone that couldn't stay for 2 weeks were given a 6 month differal...
I opted out and got the notice in the mail that I'll be due up next April...

Last April, I sat thru jury selection in one trial on the 1st day, but I wasn't picked. I was dismissed after that.

I'm on call for federal jury duty for the next two weeks. There's a number I have to call every day after 5pm to find out if I have to report the next day. Sounds weird to me; anyone else ever have to do this?

Just try to sound like a lawyer or libertarian when they interview you and they will run your arse out of there real quick.

Yeah I had to do this. I forgot and never called. Remembered months later and called them and they said I was good.

I got a jury summons for this Thursday in the 24th district in Gretna. I got one about 6 months ago, and when I checked the website the night before reporting, it told me that my juror number was not needed. Hopefully the same thing will happen this week.
