There's an awesome reason why your homeowners insurance is higher if you have a pitbull.

They were good dogs.

It's the owners.

When my son was three, he was climbing on top of my full grown Getman Sheperd and riding him like a horse. Dog never made any angry gesture towards my kids or anyone else's. One day he got out and chewed up the neighbor dog. We got rid of him.

Dogs are what they are.

Lol

I'd love to see evidence of well trained, sweet pits attacking kids unprovoked instead of trash ignoring their dogs.

My best friend had two pits and they both protected the baby in the house like it was their job. They never came close to snapping. One of them was mauled by a couple rotties because he was too sweet to fight back.

But yeah, all pits will attack because it's their DNA

Want some evidence?

That little girl was kill by that dog.

And who said anything about all pits will attack beccause it's in their DNA?

I was at the dog park the other day with my sweet, non-baby-killing Australian Shepard when someone walked in with a huge pit with a Bain looking muzzle on it's mouth. The dog was trying its best to run off and mess with other dogs while the owner struggled to keep control. Everyone was just looking at him and he replied "Oh he's harmless, the muzzle is for just incase"

I'm sorry but if you have to put a steel Hannibal-esque mask on your dog, it should not be in a place with children or other dogs. It is a well known fact that pit bulls are aggressive animals. Sure they can be trained but as soon as they are out of their "trained" comfort zone, their basic instincts flip on and they are back to being wild animals.

30 years ago before pit bulls became the breed of the month, it was Rotties getting all the press for their attacks.

You can make all the excuses you want. But anyone who's not an idiot knows full well that even the most sweet and gentile Pit from the most loving and gentile home can snap and attack at any moment. That does not mean they all will snap. But it's very possible. Anyone who owns a pit must be ready to accept that responsibility.

And yes, it's possible for any dog to snap and bite. But the difference is when the family golden retriever bites your kid you're looking at more than likely a bandage and some neosporin. When a Pit attacks then the discussion is more along he lines of reconstructive surgery if you're lucky or funeral arrangements if you're not.

not everyone likes labs. I think they are overrated as hell. They are stupid and puppies for a good 3-4 years and they shed like crazy.
