This is oldest thing in history that I can remember. I remember conversion that we had bombed japan, but nothing else about it. I was about 3 1/2.

Hell, they got so much stuff to go through in donations, they're still making sure guns are properly unloaded. Testimony is more important for them to collect. As the surviving big artifacts like vehicles are accounted for in final locations around the world and the smaller artifacts have numerous surviving examples.

Great, Great, Great Uncle was James Doolittle. Funny story, in sophomore year of college one of my pledge brothers was talking about how one of his great uncle's was the first to bomb Tokyo. Discovered we were 3rd cousins through that.

One of the first books I read as a child was 30 seconds over Tokyo by Ted Lawson.

The raid was a HUGE shot in the arm for American morale. We bombed them in broad daylight, they had their pants down!

Youtube is your friend. There is video of the raid, the prep, interviews with Jimmy etc.

I highly recommend the movie Thirty Seconds over Tokyo.

Heroic instance in our nation's history. What warriors. What heroes. What courage and valor.

Thanks for the OP.

FTR, a year afterwards, we blowed Jap Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto to smithereens.
